Catherine Finucane
Catherine Finucane commenced working at Robinson + McGuinness in 2023. Prior to this, she worked as a solicitor in the family law litigation team and Family Violence Unit at Legal Aid ACT. She has considerable experience in children’s matters (especially those involving family violence), property matters, and Care and Protection matters.
Catherine was admitted to practice in 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce majoring in International Business from Macquarie University and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Catherine studied at Lancaster University in England for a semester where she studied International Human Rights and Competition Law.
Catherine is a compassionate listener, and understands that every family law matter comes with its own difficulties. She takes pride in helping her clients settle their matters amicably so that they and their families can move on from this challenging time. Catherine regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and at the ACT Magistrates Court. She is a passionate advocate for her clients and consistently strives to help them achieve positive and practical outcomes.
Catherine is a member of the ACT Law Society, and Women’s Lawyers Association ACT.
