Georgia Ford

Georgia joined the R&M team in January 2025 and has exclusively practiced in family law since her admission as a Solicitor to the ACT Supreme Court in 2024 and the New Zealand High Court in 2023.

Georgia has previously worked as a solicitor in private practice and has experience working within intersectional areas of family law. This includes her time as a case worker at the Canterbury Community Law Centre and an intern with the New Zealand Police Prosecution Service and Family Harm Teams.

She is originally from New Zealand where she graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2023. Georgia underwent a student exchange program where she studied equality and human rights law at Stockholm University in Sweden.

Georgia has a keen interest in parenting and care and protection matters including working with neurodiverse individuals and those experiencing mental health struggles. Georgia’s Honours dissertation for her law degree was on improving New Zealand’s Compulsory Mental Health Treatment Regime and this research inspired her to become a disability support worker, mainly working with children with autism.

Georgia is a passionate, client-focused advocate. With her empathetic and conscientious nature, she is able to support clients through the family law process.

Georgia is a member of the ACT Law Society and the Family Law Section of the Law Council.
